"The power of population is indefinitely greater than the power in the earth to produce subsistence for man. Population, when unchecked, increases in a geometrical ratio. Subsistence increases only in an arithmetical ratio. A slight acquaintance with numbers will show the immensity of the first power in comparison with the second." Thomas Robert Malthus
I wrote this post a few years ago and the only thing I left out was, when not if ! We, as a population, have surpassed the ability to live within the resources provided by Earth. In other words, we have as a species, reached our "tipping point."
There are just too many of us ( 6.8 billion ) and with our population increasing by over 94 million each year, it is only a matter of time before nature will step in and do what we seem to be in capable of doing on our own. Limit the number of humans competing for a limited, and fastly depleting, amount of resources!
With the 2009 outbreak of a new strain of Influenza A virus subtype H1N1, there is a fear that it possesses pandemic potential. In the latter half of April 2009, the World Health Organization's pandemic alert level, which has been three for some years, was moved to four and then five.
1) a pathological condition, of a part of an organ or system of an organism resulting from various causes such as infection, genetic defect or environmental stress and characterized by an identifiable group of signs or symptoms.
2)A condition or tendendency, as of society, regarded as abnormal and harmful. word derives from middle English disease, from old french; des-dis +aise, ease Lack of ease: trouble
These are definitions of Disease fond in the dictionary. I will do my best on this post to make my point as clear as possible. It's imperative you all understand what I'm about to illuminate.
Ok, here we go. When, why and who made the determination that diseases are bad, negative and must be eradicated? Go back and look at the dictionaries description again if you don't think it's viewed as a bad, abnormal and harmful condition.
Diseases exist because it is one of "natures tools" it uses them to balance the scales of existence. We are at a "tipping point" in so many realms today that it is hard for me to tell which one will cause our demise first.
Mankind has constantly taken it upon himself to ignore, or worse, intentionally over-ride "The Laws Of Nature". I've had this concept bouncing around in my head for many years. It started in my early teens while I was growing up in upstate New York deep in the Adirondack Park. I spent most of my free time viewing and later observing, (there is a difference), the workings of "Nature."
I once observed something odd happening to the Snowshoe rabbit population. It went through a period of what I can only say, appeared to be, a mass population explosion. This, I began to notice, had a profound effect on the number of foxes I began to see. They too began to multiple rapidly in direct corelation with the rabbits. More food available meant higher birth rates and a decrease in mortality among pups.
But, as the fox population began to reach a tipping point, something extraordinary began to happen. The "Tipping Point" here was when the population of foxes grew to a number that could no longer be sustained in that eco-system. Mother Nature got a "call" ( a warning sign, or a bell - I'll explain this in detail later on ) and stepped in, creating a disease called "mange" it's a highly contagious and very deadly disease.
I must pause here to give another medical description. There are three types of diseases in the world - their names and descriptions come directly from medical terminology .
1) Intrinsic - or from within
2) Extrinsic - emerging from outside
3) Unknown origin - self explanatory
I think it is important to mention these because you can see which diseases are a result of lifestyle, (example- smoking and obesity result in heart disease.) The class of disease that are from "unknown origin" are what I am focusing on and really puts this all together.
Ever wonder why the deadliest diseases have their there origins in places or continents that are over populated, were the people are already dying of starvation and even those that aren't dying are suffering the ill effects of malnutrition?
Remberber the "tipping point" this is no different than what I witnessed regarding the fox and the hair. Nature some how knew or knows when a species is weakened by malnutrition and therefor unable to produce healthy offspring.
I mentioned a warning sign or "bell" that calls on Mother Nature to intervene. I think I have figured it out. Do you know how Mother Nature knows? Think about it for a moment. Merck, Phizer, Bayer and any other pharmaceutical companies out there who have and are profiting from mankind's self destruction, hopefully this message will get out.
Ok, I'm going to cut to the chase here. If we really wants to cure Aids, Avian Bird Flu, Ebola, Mersa, Sars and any other highly contagious and deadly disease. Then we only have to understand their origins. These are the class of diseases, that the medicine world calls " of unknown origin."
Well, I have found the "ORIGIN! We can spend millions or billions on finding the cure, all the while lining the pockets of the pharmaceutical companies, or we can simply feed the people that are malnutrioned and starving. When these people become weakened, that "bell" goes off and Mother Nature steps in to "correct" the problem by reducing the number of people competeing for the resources. This is the bell! That's right! If the millions of people in Africa began to be feed and there immune systems got healthier (70% of our immune system is in our digestive track.) DING-DONG There is your BELL!
Mother Nature would not assume those creatures individuals have reached the tipping point, there by having to step in! Every time Mother Nature attempts to gradually limit humans over population, man intentionally and ignorantly, over-rides her. Well, as Jeff Goldblum so perfectly stated in Jurassic Park, "Nature will not be denied."
If we want to intentionally over-ride MN we must at the very least understand those processes that are taking place! Feed the people - cure the disease.... stop spending money on drugs and vaccines that are only going to anger MN and cause her to mutate those viruses into a stronger more lethal version!
Here is an odd fact - look back at history and notice that there is a direct correlation between the fall of all great empires and a specific disease. Examples holds true for the Britsh, Roman and Ottoman to mention only a few. Plagues were the beginning of the end for them..... Is the United States of American Empire next. Watch for Ebola and or Avian flu outbreak. The pandemic is coming!
The United Nation report on global warming came out today. Scientists from 17 countries compiled over 35'000 reports and came up with this forecast-Disaster! That believe it or not was after many governments, including US, told them to tone it down as to not cause mass hysteria and global panic. What would have been the forecast had they not toned it down? One section of the report stated that because of word wide drought Africa will suffer severe food shortages (like they arent already). Mother nature will come up with a virus or bacteria the likes of which we can't even contemplate.
Let me pose a very simple question. If some company came up with a "miracle drug" that would eradicate every deadly disease known to man, would that be a good or bad thing? I hope you answered bad. The population of the earth is approx. 6.7 billion. If no one died from anything other than old age or accidents, the population would explode rapidly to a point that the all food sources would disappear and we would all die of starvation. Either we begin a social engineering policy (China already has one) or Mother Nature will do it her way. We may not like her methods, but they WORK and have worked for millions of years!
Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
I'm not sure God had seen the willingness of man to "go fourth and multiply" to the extent we have.
